2 Years Old

Today we went for Molly's 2 year old checkup.  It was a long visit as this momma has tons of questions!

Molly weighed 24 pounds 9 ounces and was 34 1/2 inches tall.  This puts Molly around 75% in height and 15% in weight.  She is still long and lean!

Developmentally, Molly is right on track.  She does all the activities expected of a 2 yr old, which is a huge relief after everything she has been through... guess the therapy really helped!  Her speech is still behind but progressing well and the pediatrician was very pleased with how far she has come.

We were able to wean Molly off of her prevacid about 2 months ago... she still is showing some signs of reflux, but it is so much better than before.  We are going to watch her over the next 6 months to determine if she needs to go see a GI doctor or if she is okay.

Molly continues to be an extremely picky eater.  She only eats chicken nuggets for meat, and that is hit or miss.  She loves most fruits and cheese.  She likes yogurt as well.  Her favorite is currently applesauce pouches.  Molly will not drink any milk anymore.  The pediatrician thinks there may be a connection between Molly's reflux and her picky eating, so this is even more reason to watch her reflux closely.  Because Molly will not eat meat, they checked her hemoglobin level at her appointment.  It was borderline low, so they will recheck in 6 months as I try to increase the iron rich foods in her diet... this might get interesting seeing as she doesn't eat anything iron rich.  

Molly's favorite word are "mine" and "no" currently.  She loves to tell us no, but hates when we say it. 

She is saying many 2-3 word phrases... mainly "I want.... ". It amazes me how quickly her vocabulary is growing considering how far behind she has been.  

Molly have an opinion about everything!  She helps pick out her clothes and snacks.  She wants to do what she wants to do when she wants to do it!  

Molly loves her babies and pushing toys around the living room.  She likes to chase the dogs with those toys and try and run them over.  We feel so bad for them, but they always get away and she loves it so much.  

Molly has the sweetest laugh.  Her giggles make anyone smile and forget why they may have been in a sour mood.  She is generally happy, but very serious too.  She rarely smiles for the camera.  

Molly moves from one task to the next so quickly.  We are working on cleaning up one thing before moving to the next and taking turns.  She is doing so well with taking turns...especially for someone who thinks everything is hers!
